The March 2014 show at Linda Hodges Gallery featuring my paintings along with work by Robert McCauley opened to an enthusiastic crowd on Thursday, the 6th.  In conjunction with the exhibition, both Robert and I were interviewed by gallery manager, Dale Cotton, and those interviews have been posted on the gallery facebook page.  The videos are short but succinct and provide a nice introduction to our work.

Two announcements – not only have I  been added to the roster of artists represented by Linda Hodges Gallery in Seattle  but I will also have my first show there this coming March.  It’s quite a lot for me to digest, but I’m excited about this new phase in my career.   I will miss working with my former galleries, Museo in Langley, WA and Smith & Vallee Gallery in Edison, WA, but know that this is the right move for me at this time.  The March show will open on Thursday, the 6th, with an artist’s reception from 6pm to 8pm.  I have been partnered for the show with the highly regarded, well-established painter, Robert McCauley, so I’m hoping for a good turn out for gallery walk.  The show will run through March 30.

Work Featured in International Artist Magazine

Posted August 4th, 2013 by | No Comments

I’m excited to finally be able to announce the publication of Mitch Albala‘s article, “The Power of Notan in Landscape Composition” in the August/September 2013 issue of International Artist Magazine in which my painting, Leafy Hideway, in featured.  This article has been over a year in the works, and I’m deeply honored to have one of my paintings chosen to illustrate the concept of Notan.  Check out the links for more information and an explanation of Notan, a concept new to me in strict academic terms, but not new intuitively.  The magazine should be available for purchase at any well stocked newsstand through most of September 2013.leafy hideaway_leness
